The Debutantes revolves around Kate (Sue), a friendless and weird-looking student who tries to win the friendship of fellow students Lara (Miles), Jenny (Jane), Canice (Michelle), and Shayne (Chanel).
She, however, fails miserably in that she only gets close to one of them, Lara, while the rest of the girls find immeasurable joy in bullying her around. Kate then experience a nightmare and warns them about it but they would not listen except for Lara.
The Debutantes is a stylish horor film with its fair share of scare and thrills. It is a self-contained tale of evil that knows exactly what it's doing. The film is a glossy, moody, unnerving little horror tale, building on a consistent atmosphere of dread and slowly rising tension. The performances and casting are match to their characters and truly the fives leads shines on their own merit especially Sue Ramirez and Miles Ocampo.
